About Haven Bistro & BarJulius trained in Austria as a chef, he then worked in Switzerland for five years gaining experience in every aspect of high-class catering. In 1964 Julius came to England where he worked for several high-class establishments.In 1969 he took over the famous Frederick’s Restaurant as General Manager. After running the restaurant for over 7 years he started his own eateries - Julius’ and Uppers Bistro in Upper Street. Both restaurant were an instant success. In 2001 Haven Bistro & Bar was opened in Whetstone, again it was an instant success and is now the best known and most successful restaurant in North London. Haven is a family-run restaurant situated at the heart of Whetstone N20. Haven offers private dining space for family or corporate parties and holds a wedding license. |

What an evening. Booking was courteous and when we got there the staff greeted us with big smiles. The atmosphere really hit the spot with lovely paintings, cosy lighting and we were surrounded by orchids. We ordered scallops, asparagus, hand cut chips, liver and rib eye steak with wine of the month. What a meal. absolutely amazing. The portions were so generous that we skipped the desserts.
On the way out, our coats arrived in seconds. Highly recommended for a return visit.

I have enjoyed many meals at The Haven and have found the staff to be very polite, helpful and professional.
The food quality and quantity is always spot on with excellent attention to detail. Some of the starters are superb, like the squid and chorizo, moist, full of flavour and spot on. The set lunch menu is great value for money and despite being busy on some occasions when I've been there, the dishes always arrive in good time.
