Review of Dishoom - London - London W written 26 Sep 2012

Dishoom, with its open kitchen and bustling, young, mostly non-Indian waiters, has a jolly buzz. The chicken biryani, cooked in a pastry-sealed pot, was terrific on the aromatics, the waft of cardamom, clove and turmeric hitting my olfactory bulb before a mouthful met the tongue, though it was a little dry. Their dark, pungent sticky lamb chops rubbed with black pepper and chillies were very good indeed, the outside deeply charred, the meat still pink. I would come back here for a plate of these. Or perhaps two, maybe three with a friend.

Review of The Settlement - Caistor - Lincolnshire written 2 Sep 2012

I went to The Settlement restaurant in Caistor last night and had a brilliant meal. The building has been completely overhauled and is nicely styled in a mix of old and new.

The staff were efficient and friendly and the food was fresh and well presented. The selection is not large, but is more than adequate to offer a choice to everyone, no matter what their tastes.

Try The Settlement and take some friends with you to share the experience. It's some of the best food I??™ve tasted in a long time.

Review of Brentwood Hotel - Rotherham - South Yorkshire written 9 Jul 2012

We stayed for 2 nights. For breakfast, there was a choice of juices, cereals, continental and cooked. We both opted for the cooked and it was lovely - hot, fresh and just the right amount. The service was excellent. Fantastic value evening meals with a large mixed grill and a varied choice of other mains. The steak was delicious properly cooked. Good value and we will return.

Review of The Swan - Worcester - Worcestershire written 1 Jul 2012

You can always judge a pub (and its food) by the number of customers at any given time. The Swan was really busy at lunchtime when we arrived, but the meals that other customers had ordered looked inviting, so we decided to hang on and sup a pint of Marston's Traditional (or just a half for me!).

We didn't have to wait too long for a table, and we certainly weren't disappointed. All the food was good quality, freshly prepared and nicely presented. There was plenty of choice and not too pricey. Don't hesitate to try The Swan.
