About Wingrove House
Escape to Wingrove House. Originally built as a family home in the mid 19th century, this colonial-style house is now a relaxed and stylish destination on the high street in the beautiful and historic village of Alfriston, East Sussex.
With a lovely restaurant and five fabulous double bedrooms, our guests come back time and again for the delicious dinner, comfortable bed and great breakfast that make a stay at the Wingrove so special.
Run by a small team, offering a personal and friendly service, with airy verandas, candlelit lounge and restaurant and pretty rooms, the Wingrove is so much more than a restaurant with rooms and is a real antidote to the rush and bustle.
With great service and attention to detail, our relaxed and stylish restaurant, which opens on to the heated veranda and secluded terrace, is the perfect venue for any occasion. With an emphasis on taste and provenance, the menu includes a range of modern British and classic dishes. The Wingrove’s kitchen is supplied with fresh, seasonal, free range and organic produce throughout the year by enthusiastic local farmers and suppliers.
On cooler days – and definitely during the chill of winter – the lounge at Wingrove House is a welcoming and restful place to sit by the woodburner with a newspaper or book or have a drink before or after dinner. On warmer days, we throw open the doors and visitors can sit out on the terrace’s comfortable sofas.
