About The Hand and Trumpet
The Hand and Trumpet in Wrinehill, next to Betley, underwent a full-on renovation in 2006, and (even though we say it ourselves) we’re pretty chuffed with how it’s turned out.
It’s a decent sized pub, seating about 150, with classic old floors, rugs, open fires, books and old furniture. There’s a sizeable garden with a large pond, and we’ve built a deck out over the rear of the pub which overlooks the grounds. It’s a stunner when the sun comes out.
For those that don’t live locally, Wrinehill is situated right next to Betley, a small market town listed in the Domesday Book of 1086 (although the market ceased trading in Victorian times). One village melds seamlessly into the other, with the Hand and Trumpet lying at the northerly edge of Wrinehill, although in archives it is often listed as being in Betley.
