About The French Horn
One of the finest Restaurants in Reading offering an excellent dining experience in Berkshire
The French Horn in Berkshire has been providing hospitality for two hundred years. Originally a coaching inn, the hotel has been run by the Emmanuel family since 1972, with a focus on providing quality food and excellent service. It has a reputation as one of the finest restaurants in reading with comfortable rooms.
The French Horn sits next to the bridge in the busy little village of Sonning on Thames. The hotel is on the banks of the River Thames, providing a stunning backdrop for our restaurant and lovely views from many of the bedrooms. As you relax in our dining room, looking out at this pretty stretch of the Thames, it’s hard to believe that you are such a short journey away from Reading and London.
The French Horn has an excellent reputation for its food. We really understand food and drink, and treat our ingredients with love and care.
The restaurant at The French Horn has superb views of the grounds, down to the tree-lined river. The light is absolutely stunning during the day, and at night guests can enjoy looking across the romantic, floodlit gardens.
On warm days, the terrace is the perfect place to enjoy a drink before your meal. We also have a smaller dining room, seating up to twenty four guests – ideal for a more intimate party, a special occasion, or an elegant place to hold a business meeting.
