The Archibald Knox is a busy vibrant family pub with a great reputation for serving good home cooked and locally sourced food with a new Summer Menu now available. It's best to get here early on a Sunday if you fancy a Roast, because there's sometimes a queue, even before the doors open! The staff are extremely friendly and approachable and there's a great atmosphere throughout the clearly defined bar and lounge areas.

Maybe I judge unfairly but, having queued at the bar for almost 10 minutes then being told by a surly manager that the kichen had just closed (it was still at least 5 minutes before last meal orders) was never going to make me too happy.
To then see the manager himself about 10 minutes later come out from behind the bar with a large plate of food and sit down to eat it, was just adding insult to injury.
The beer is ok, but the guy who was manager when we called should not manage a bloody zoo
